Where Spring Begins is inspired by a summer drive through the countryside near Lakeview, NY, outside of Lima. On a familiar road heading south from Rochester, a grouping of trees caught the light in a way that demanded attention—quietly, without spectacle. It was the kind of moment that stops you not because it’s grand, but because it feels right.

This painting captures that pause. The light settles into the landscape, resting on the trees as if it knows it belongs there. There’s warmth in the air, stillness in the scene, and a sense of being fully present in a fleeting summer moment that would otherwise pass unnoticed.
